5 Things That Keep Your Nails Looking Amazing

Hey There, Stylish! I love keeping my natural nails. I’ll admit to, at times, having trouble keeping them from breaking. They can break really easily, though they grow back really quickly. By following these simple tips, you can keep your nails from breaking, and have a better manicure.
Never let them be naked. There should always be something on your nails, whether it’s nail polish or a nail strengthener. This will make your nails stronger by keeping a barrier between them and things (water, cleaning products, etc.) that can make them brittle.
Wear gloves. Soaking your hands in water, makes nails brittle. Next time you’re cleaning, or washing dishes, wear rubber gloves to protect your nails from breaking. It’s also a good idea to wear loofa mitts when you bathe or shower.
Round them. Round nails are less likely to chip at the corners. If you like the square shape better round out the edges of your nails.
Buff your nails. Buffing your nails before applying a fresh coat of paint is ideal. Buffing removes tiny ridges that are naturally in your nails, and allows the polish to stick better. If you buff before you apply polish, the shine is noticeably better.
Always have a base. A base coat protects your natural nails from yellowing. Colors that have a red hue are notorious for staining your nail. Apply a base coat (or two), or a strengthener like Nutra Nail, to keep your natural nails a gorgeous color.

This girl’s sharp, quick wit may not be for the faint of heart, but those close to her say that she’s caring and hilariously funny. Reality TV, a not -so-small sweet tooth, nail polish, and fashion are but a few of her guilty pleasures. Her obsession with writing and hobby of interviewing brought her to conducting a few interviews with fashion designers and makeup artists for her fashion blog, Hey There, Stylish! Curiosity for different lifestyles and experiences lead to more interviews and ultimately became Gal Pal Magazine. Like many college girls, Lauren is a media strategies major who spends her days going to class; most of her late nights are reserved for studying and her night job.
